Ask LUUK is a fractional back office for remote founders with small teams. We do the books, payroll, contractor and people work that nobody on the team was hired to do.
Why we started
Who’s doing it
Most small remote teams don’t have a back office. They have an assistant who ended up with the books because somebody had to. The people doing this work aren’t the problem. They were hired to do something else, and the back office quietly became a second job.
Who owns it
Around them sit a payroll app, a spreadsheet of contractors, and a tax preparer once a year. Everyone owns a piece, and nobody owns the whole picture. So receipts go missing, contractors wait to be paid, and founders hear about a problem after it has already grown.
What we do
We started Ask LUUK to own the whole picture. We keep the books, run payroll, pay contractors, and tell you what the numbers mean. Your assistant gets back to assisting, and you get one person to ask.
The name
ลูก
Pronounced like “Luke.” Thai for child, or offspring.
Ask
An open invitation. You don’t need to know the right question or the right department. You just ask.
LUUK
From ลูก, the Thai word for child: something you raise and help grow. We help young businesses grow up properly.
Our logo is a seed putting out its first leaves. The marigold leaf is the growth a good back office makes possible. Marigold is also a nod to Thailand, where marigold garlands mark care and celebration.
Ask LUUK is run by Leo Stevens, Operations Manager.
